Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information FrostrailGame.org collects when you visit, why we collect it, and what choices you have. FrostrailGame.org is a free, unofficial fan site operated by an individual hobbyist; it does not require an account, does not ask you to register, and does not sell anything. Information We Collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, payment details or any other personally identifying information through this site. What we do collect is limited, aggregate usage data:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4). We use Google Analytics to understand which guides are read, where visitors arrive from, and which pages are slow or broken. GA4 records page views, approximate country/region, browser and operating system type, referring site, and how long pages stay open. It does not record your name or email address, and Google truncates IP addresses as part of standard GA4 behavior.
- Cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as the
_gacookie) so repeat visits can be counted as one reader rather than many. These cookies can identify a browser, but not a person. - Server logs. Our hosting (Cloudflare) keeps routine request logs for security and abuse prevention. We do not use these logs to build profiles of individual visitors.
How We Use This Information
Usage data is used for exactly three things: deciding which Frostrail topics deserve a guide next, finding pages that need fixing, and understanding whether the site is growing. We do not sell, rent or trade this data, and we do not combine it with information from other sites we may run.
Advertising and Third-Party Vendors
This site is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense, and third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising in two ways:
- Visit Google's Ads Settings page (https://www.google.com/settings/ads) to turn off personalized ads from Google.
- Visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of personalized advertising from many third-party vendors at once.
If you opt out, you will still see ads — they just will not be tailored to your browsing history. Non-personalized ads still use cookies for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
How Long We Keep Data
Google Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in our GA4 property settings (Google's standard options range from 2 to 14 months), after which event-level data is automatically deleted. Advertising cookies set by Google and its partners are governed by their own retention policies. Hosting logs are kept for short operational periods by our hosting provider and are not exported or archived by us.
Third-Party Links
Our guides link to third-party sites — the official Steam page, developer announcements, and similar resources. We choose these links carefully, but we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of sites we do not control. Once you leave FrostrailGame.org, that site's own privacy policy applies.
Children's Privacy
This site is written for adult and general-audience gamers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Since we collect no identifying information at all, there is nothing for us to disclose — but if you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Your Choices
Besides the ad opt-outs above, you can block or delete analytics cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking all cookies will not prevent you from reading any page on this site; nothing here is locked behind consent.
Changes to This Policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it — for example, if the advertising setup changes — we will update this page and move the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will also be noted on the home page for a reasonable period. This page was last updated on October 28, 2026.
